Sheilani Alix (vocals) had formal musical training from the age of 5 studying classical piano with the Vallejo Conservatory of Music under the Music Teachers Association of California. Her jazz influence stems from her mother constantly playing records by Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and others since she was a little girl. As years passed, other influences included Dinah Washington, Lalah Hathaway, and Eva Cassidy. Sheilani performs as a vocalist with the Dan Damon Trio and the Kurt Ribak Trio at numerous private events and venues around the Bay Area including The Baltic, The Two-Bird Café, The Miramar at Half Moon Bay, Armando’s, Berkeley Hillside Club, Bella Vino, The Boom Boom Room, Shanghai 1930 and Yoshi's.  Aside from singing with her jazz group, she also records original music and has performed with other Bay Area singer/songwriters including the Contra Costa Songwriters Project and the vocal/guitar quatet, The MadHatters, at a list of venues including the Bazaar Cafe, the Coast Cafe, Ashkenaz, and the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts.
